Welcome to legislationforlimos.co.uk

Legislation For Limos This website is for all limousine operators in the UK. It gives you the chance to voice your ideas and ensures that industry organizations and government regulatory bodies alike sit up and take notice.

In order to mount a successful campaign for change, the stretch limousine hire industry must appear to be united. It is even more important that the industry presents a clear picture of the future that carries the weight of the entire industry behind it.

The most effective way of doing this is to provide statistics for the limo hire industry as a whole, and to include within that industry information, a true, clear picture of what operators need both individually and as an industry.

This information can then be used to build and give real support to a sustainable campaign to lobby for the right legislation in order to nurture the growth of our industry.

This can only be done with overwhelming support from all operators.

Without it, the industry will never realize it’s true potential as a genuine customer service industry that brings real benefits to the UK economy.

Please fill in our online survey as completely as you can and register your e-mail address so that we can send you a copy of the final statistics and an analysis of the findings.

This information should be returned within the next 28 days so that analysis and results can be prepared for publishing by the end of July 2008.

Once prepared, this unique document will be published for all to see. This will allow everyone to get a clear picture what can and cannot be agreed within the whole industry. Only then can a true campaign for change begin.

Industry Problems.

Proposed ban on side facing seats for up 8-passenger seats from April 2009.
Proposed ban on side facing seat for over 8 passenger seats from October 2011.

Non-EU compliant vehicles will be restricted as to type of use.

Non-comparable FMVSS safety standards for EU approval

Licensing issues will be addressed but we need to know what the industry wants?
E.g. amendments/exemptions to existing criteria to accommodate limos
Or a new draft proposal solely for limos.

This survey is not an attempt to force the industry into any kind of legislation. It is simply to collate data, which can help to support a campaign, which will include organized national meetings to present the findings and the proposals for action.
